I recently had the pleasure of staying at Il Buen Retiro, a true hidden gem just a short drive from Lucca. From the moment we arrived, Manuel and Juliana greeted us with such warmth and kindness that made us feel right at home. Their tips on local attractions were invaluable - it felt like having our own personal tour guides! The villa itself is a tranquil oasis, complete with a stunning garden and a lovely pool where we soaked up the Tuscan sun. Our room was spacious, with all the modern comforts you could ask for, including a comfortable bed and beautifully clean facilities. I particularly enjoyed indulging in the Italian breakfast in the garden, featuring fresh fruits and good cappuccinos. With picturesque Lucca only 4 km away and other stunning locations like Pisa and Cinque Terre within a hour's drive, this spot is perfect for anyone wanting to dive into the charm of Tuscany.
